Alleged Katlehong drug dealer behind bars

The suspect was previously arrested for dealing in drugs and the case was withdrawn in court.

Police arrested an alleged drug dealer after the 33-year-old was found with a black spectacle container with at least 46 ziplock bags with suspected khat, valued at R 2 400, on March 24.

Katlehong North SAPS spokesperson Capt Lesetja Mathobela confirmed that an African male was arrested.

The suspect confirmed that on March 10, after spotting a drug raid by the police, he contacted several drugs dealers in the Katlehong North area to warn them of the operation.

Mathobela told Kathorus MAIL that the suspect’s actions prevented the police from arresting anyone on that day as they could not find anything at the addresses they visited. No arrests were made.

The suspect was previously arrested for dealing in drugs and the case was withdrawn in court, Mathobela added.
The station commander, Col Raymond Buthelezi, appeals to the community to work with the police in fighting drugs to make the community free of drugs.
