Family of murdered woman wants closure

The Khoboi family are still puzzled by the conflicting versions they have received about how Tamsanqa Khoboi was killed at a tarvern in Vosloorus on the night of February 8.

A cousin of the murdered single mother of two, Thabisile, described how a planned Saturday night outing turned into a nightmare when she was informed that Thamsanqa had been shot and killed at the tavern the two women regularly frequented together.

“At first I took it as a joke and I did not even think much of it until I started receiving calls from other people, confirming that Thamsanqa had been killed,” Thabisile explained.

Thabisile said when she arrived at the tavern, she found Thamsanqa’s body covered and still lying on the ground.
“There were paramedics and members of the police,” recalled Thabisile.

“What has made matters worse is the reason for why she was shot four times and killed keeps changing. We no longer know what to believe.”

Members of Thamsanqa’s family who attended a march organised by the local ANC Women’s League branch to the Vosloorus SAPS last week Friday told Kathorus MAIL they want the police to step up and finalise efforts in the investigations and have the matter presented for trial as soon as possible.

The family also voiced their anger and frustration at what they described as the “kids-glove” treatment given to the accused by the investigators.

“He has given the police conflicting statements about why he shot Thamsanqa four times and killed her. We want him to tell the court which one of those reasons is the truth,” said a family member.
