Thokoza SAPS donate school shoes

Thokoza SAPS donated 39 pairs of school shoes to Umkhathizwe Primary School in Thokoza.

The school was part of the adopt-a-school programme, which has seen learners at several schools in the townships benefit from the programme.

The officer who adopted the school, Capt Buyisile Mvelase, who is also the Thokoza SAPS’s media spokesperson, approached Old Mutual for a donation.

“I noticed some of the learners were coming to school without proper school shoes. The school identified all the learners who are in need of shoes from Grade R to Grade Seven.

Other stakeholders in the programme include the SAPS, Kaufela, ESDF, Transnet, and Ulibo Lwendalo Holdings which donated face masks to the school.

The principal of the school, Mrs Mgotsi, said she appreciated the gestures and thanked all donors for their efforts.
