Two caught with narcotics in Alberton area

The pair are facing charges of possession and possible dealing in illicit substances and they were taken to Alberton SAPS.

Members from the EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) arrested two male suspects for being in possession of narcotics on September 30 in Alberton during a crime prevention operation.

According to Kobeli Mokheseng, an EMPD spokesperson, the two suspects are 55 and 63 years old and they were arrested on the corner of Piet Retief Street and 2nd Avenue.

Officers uncovered six half and four full Mandrax tablets with eight knotted plastics of nyaope valued at R1 000. 
The pair are facing charges of possession and possible dealing in illicit substances and they were taken to Alberton SAPS.

The duo will appear at the Palmridge Magistrate’s Court soon.
