Alcohol remains a menace
It is irresponsible of the authorities to lift the ban on alcohol.
Lifting the ban has seen a large number of people once again flocking to liquor outlets.
This is unacceptable as the country has already seen an increase in the number of people who have died from road accidents and other related acts of violence related to alcohol.
Alcohol abuse in the townships is the biggest cause of violent crimes. Maybe the government will have to re-visit the ban on alcohol even after the Covid-19 lockdown in a bid to reduce violent crimes in the townships.
Alcohol not only contributes to violence but it also a big cause of fatal road accidents and a leading cause of violent crimes such as rape, murder, and the destruction of family life.
So, please may the government keep on fighting this scourge to protect innocent people.
