Man arrested for selling human tissues

Vosloorus SAPS has detained a man on June 13 for being in possession of a human tissue he was trying to sell to members of the community.

According to the station’s media liaison officer, Capt Piet Rossouw, police received this information from a member of the community in Extension 28.

Det Sgt Floyd Shabangu went out to investigate and upon arrival at the corner of Sehitwa and Jwaneng Streets, he noticed the individual fitting the description of the suspect.

Unaware that Shabangi was a police officer, the man offered him the human tissue, which turned out to be a human womb, for R5 000. Pretending to be negotiating with the seller, the detective then posed several questions to the man to find out more about the tissue.

The 60-year-old man was immediately arrested and detained at the Vosloorus police station and made a brief appearance in court on June 15.

Capt Rossouw said the tissue has been sent for forensic testing.
