If you can jump over your wall you are in trouble

It is an intruder’s first point of access so you need to ensure your perimeter is secure.

If you can get into your premises without any trouble, you are in trouble.

That is the message from Fidelity ADT following an incident of theft at a business premises in Roodekop this week.

This rule goes for businesses and homes.

Linda Goodenough, community development manager for Fidelity ADT said the perimeter of your property is probably one of the most important security barriers you need to worry about.

“It is an intruder’s first point of access so you need to ensure your perimeter is secure,” she said.

Goodenough said in this specific incident, the suspect managed to escape using a stepladder he found on the premises.

“It is so important to pack away any tools, ladders, hosepipes which could potentially be used by a suspect,” said Goodenough.
