Katlehong SAPS nets 16 suspects

The Katlehong police shared their weekend arrest statistics.

Officers from the Katlehong police’s Crime Prevention Unit, detectives from the Katlehong Police Station and members of the EMPD took to the streets of Katlehong in several weekend operations.

The operations were held throughout the precinct between February 28 and March 1 and led to the arrest of 16 suspects.

This is according to the latest arrest statistics released by the Katlehong Police Station.

The suspects were charged with various offences.

Charges included common assault, domestic violence, business robbery, possession of a suspected stolen motor vehicle, shoplifting, driving a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent and driving under the influence of alcohol.

All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.

Katlehong SAPS acting station commander Col Phakama Gcaza has committed herself and her team to fighting crime in the area, but knows it is impossible without the support of the community.
