During a crime-prevention operation in Zonkizizwe last Friday, EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit members arrested a suspected drug dealer.
The arrest took place at 10am and saw nyaope being confiscated.
“The officers noticed a 36-year-old man acting suspiciously in Zone Four,” said Kobeli Mokheseng, spokesperson for the EMPD.

“He was body searched and the officers discovered 21 knotted plastic bags containing nyaope, valued at R700.”
The man was detained and charged with possession of and possible dealing in an illicit substance at the Zonkizizwe Police Station.
He is expected to appear in the appropriate magistrate’s court soon.
