Disappointment of the ANC leadership

I am disappointed in the leadership of President Cyril Ramaphosa.

Here is a leader who made the country believe he was a better leader than former President Jacob Zuma and yet, his ascendancy to power has been disappointing. This year alone, South Africa has experienced more load-shedding, to the detriment of small businesses in the townships.

Since he was voted into the presidency, Ramaphosa has done little to advance and change the plight of the poor in the country. Instead, the majority of the voters, who are black, are now faced with more issues than solutions to improve their lot.

An open letter to President Cyril Ramaphosa

Sadly, if the status quo continues in this negative trajectory, the only view one gets of the future is that of doom and gloom. South Africa is a country with limitless potentials and the inability of the current ANC leadership to tap into these opportunities and improving the lives of the ordinary poor will forever remain a serious indictment on the government and its leaders.

It has been 25 years since the ANC came into power in 1994, and scores of our people like refugees in informal settlements remain jobless. I really do not think many of the young people in the country want to spend another 25 years waiting for the country’s leadership to get their act together.
