A man who works at a local business was allegedly threatened by a 53-year-old man recently.
“The complainant alleged that the suspect visited the business in Main Road, Fishers’ Hill, and claimed the man owed him R10 000,” explained Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.
“While the men were talking, the suspect allegedly began shouting at the complainant and reportedly threatened to kill him.”
A customer present at the business at the time of the altercation attempted to defuse the situation, but the suspect left and reportedly returned almost immediately with a small firearm.
“The suspect allegedly pointed the firearm at the victim’s head and threatened to pull the trigger,” said Maome.
“It is also alleged he tried to stab him with a small knife.”
With the help of the customer, the victim was able to overpower and disarm the suspect, and the Primrose police were called to the scene.

The man was arrested on a charge of pointing a firearm.
He has since appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court, where his case was postponed for plea and trial.
