Woman allegedly attacked and burnt with a cigarette

Primrose police apprehended a man on a charge of domestic violence.

A 32-year-old man was recently arrested by the Primrose police on a charge of domestic violence.

The incident was reported to police by the victim of the alleged assault, the suspect’s ex-girlfriend.

“The complainant told officers that she had been at the suspect’s shack with his new girlfriend when he arrived home,” explained Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

“He told her to leave but she refused.

“He allegedly became angry and assaulted her, threatened to kill her and take their baby away from her and also reportedly burnt her with a cigarette.”

The man was arrested and appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court where his case was postponed for plea and trail.

“We urge residents to seek help when they experience problems in their relationships,” said Maome.
