Germiston SAPS warns of internet car selling scam

The Germiston SAPS is warning the community to be alert when buying cars on the internet.

As the festive season approaches, the Germiston SAPS has noticed a scam doing the rounds on the internet.

The criminals will advertise a car for sale and when a potential buyer shows interest in it, he/she is asked to deposit some cash into an account so that the car can be reserved for them.

The buyer is then asked to meet them at a certain place for collection of the car; however, when arriving at the meeting place, the buyer finds that the people are nowhere to be found.
