Stop-and-search leads to nine arrests

Katlehong SAPS arrested nine suspects in daily crime prevention stop-and-search operation, last Tuesday.

The operation was carried out by members of the Katlehong Police Station Crime Prevention Unit.

The accused were arrested for several different offences.

Charges included:

• House break-in and theft: 2

• Shoplifting: 2

• Warrant of arrest: 2

• Rape: 1

• Theft: 1

Assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm: 1

All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.
