Palm Ridge Taxi Rank not put to proper use
The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality should investigate and establish why the taxis are not using the above-mentioned taxi rank.
The Palm Ridge Taxi Rank situated on the corner of Celtis and Palm Ridge roads was built more than two years ago and it cost the metro millions of rands.
What is the use of spending so much money and it does not serve the needs of the residents of the above area?
This taxi rank is used as a parking area for taxis and motor vehicles. The taxis that should use this taxi rank use either Combretium Drive in Palm Ridge or Leon Street in Eden Park.
Patrons who use taxis have to walk a very far distance to board taxis to go to work or shopping.
Some of them have to leave very early in the morning and it is very dangerous, especially for the ladies.
There has been a number of muggings and robberies when patrons board the taxis.
The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality should investigate and establish why the taxis are not using the above-mentioned taxi rank.
Was this taxi rank built only to show the residents that the metro was delivering services to its residents?
