The organiser of the event, Kenny Nhlapo, said: “I saw a need to have this gala dinner as other women never get the time to have fun and network as they are often busy with taking care of their families.

“I want to give them a chance to do all that, that’s why we have invited speakers to speak on different topics and to also empower them with skills.

“This is our fourth year running and people do support us. We hope that next year it will be bigger and better.”

One of the MCs, Tenjiwe “Pork chop, Tinkerberll” Mbalela said, “I think it is a wonderful event as it is happening in the township.

“It’s my second time today that I’ll be an MC of this event and I can tell you that the speakers come with a lot of information, so I’m eager to learn and I know that I’m going to come out of this place having learnt a lot.
