Drug dealers nabbed in Windmill Park, Villa Liza

The EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit arrested five suspects in three different instances of drug trade in Boksburg over the last week.

In the first case, a woman (34) and a man (21) were arrested on Wednesday,  August 7 around 11am in Windmill Park.

They were found in possession of mandrax, crack cocaine, nyaope and dagga with an altogether estimated street value of over R6 000.

According to chief superintendent Wilfred Kgasago, EMPD spokesperson, the arrests followed when the EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) swiftly responded on information received when the pair residing at Lindelani informal settlement was found in possession of 21 crack cocaine rocks, 18 half mandrax and five full mandrax tablets, 15 dagga pokes weighing 85 grams as well as 11 plastic-wrapped nyaope.

“Additionally, the DEU members confiscated cash amounting to R650 from the woman,” said Kgasago.

“The arrestees were detained at Dawn Park police station charged with possession and dealing in narcotics.”

* In the second case, on Friday, August 9 around 7am, the DEU members confiscated mandrax tablets and dagga from a male suspect in Windmill Park.

According to Kgasago, the suspect was immediately handcuffed and detained at Dawn Park police station.

He said the suspected dealer (28) was arrested when the DEU members uncovered 7 full mandrax, 2 half and 2 quarter mandrax tablets as well as dagga weighing 77,2 grams with an estimated street value of R2 000.

Cash amounting to R440 was also confiscated from the suspect.

The suspect was charged with possession and dealing in narcotics and is expected to appear in the Vosloorus Magistrate’s Court on Monday.

 

 

* In the third case, the DEU members on Friday, August 9 around 7am arrested two male suspects in Villa Liza for possession of mandrax tablets and dagga valued at over R2 000.

“The arrests were as a result of a tip off from the community of Villa Liza in Boksburg,” said Kgasago.

“The pair was apprehended when they were found in possession of  30 mandrax tablets and dagga with a mass of 67 grams with an overall street value of R2 500. The DEU members also confiscated cash amounting to R167 suspected to be proceeds from the illicit dealings.

“The arrested pair, aged 20 and 25, was detained at Dawn Park police station charged with possession and dealing in narcotics.”

They are expected to appear in the Vosloorus Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
