SAPS neglects Meyiwa family

I am an Orlando Pirates supporter and also a staunch fan of the late Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa, who was shot and killed in Vosloorus five years ago.

The recent death of his father, Sam Meyiwa, has left me devastated and angry at the way the police have handled his son’s murder. And now the family has lost a second member simply because the police have failed to arrest the killers of the first family member.

This goes without saying that Sam Meyiwa died a sad man with a broken heart because of the manner in which his son’s death was handled by the police. And after making promises that Senzo’s killers would be arrested by Easter, which has long since passed, Cele is now talking about leaving the police.

Does this mean he has now abandoned his obligations to the Meyiwa family?

The SAPS has not only kept the Meyiwa family down, but they have brought shame to themselves for neglecting the Meyiwa family at their hour of need.
