Officers from the Katlehong police’s Crime Prevention Unit conducted a stop-and-search operation in the streets of Katlehong, last Monday.
The operation aimed to increase police visibility within the community and led to the arrest of five suspects.

The accused were charged with various offences.
Charges included assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, hijacking, robbery, possession of drugs and driving under the influence of alcohol.

All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.
The police will continue to hold similar operations in the area.
