Fourteen suspects were arrested in Katlehong during several different weekend operations.
The operations, held between July 19 and 21, were conducted by members of the Katlehong SAPS Crime Prevention Unit with help from detectives from the Katlehong Police Station and EMPD officers.
The accused were charged with various offences.

Charges included:
• Driving under the influence of alcohol: 8
• Possession of a hijacked motor vehicle: 2
• Common assault: 2
• Interfering with police duties: 1
• Possession of drugs: 1.

The EMPD also issued a number of fines to motorists during several roadblocks in the area.
All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for a number of different reasons.
The Katlehong police will continue to hold similar operations in the area.
