Suspect arrested for house robbery

Katlehong SAPS Crime Prevention Unit officers arrested a 33-year-old man on a charge of house robbery.

While on an early-morning patrol in the Ndlazi Section in Katlehong last Friday, officers from the Katlehong SAPS Crime Prevention Unit heard a loud shout.

“The resident was shouting for help and pointing at a vehicle which was trying to flee the scene,” explained Capt Mega Ndobe, communications officer for the Katlehong police.

“It is alleged that the two men forced open the door of the victim’s home and threatened him with a firearm.

“They then reportedly took a plasma TV from the home and loaded it into a waiting black Toyota Tazz.”

“Three suspects managed to escape, but one suspect was grabbed by police before he could escape,” said Ndobe.
