Armed suspects bundle Glen Acres CNA staff and customers in office

Although no one was reported injured during the incident, the staff was shaken by the robbery.

An estimated 74 cellphones and an undisclosed amount of cash were taken during a business robbery at CNA in Glen Acres Shopping Centre on Friday morning.

According to Capt Jethro Mtshali, spokesperson for Kempton Park SAPS, five suspects entered the store and pointed firearms at the staff. It is also alleged two of the suspects were armed.

“They fled the scene after taking the cellphones and money from the tills,” said Mtshali.

Three staff members and customers inside the store at the time of the robbery were taken to an office in the shop. Although no one was reported injured during the incident, the staff was very shaken by the robbery.

A case of business robbery is under investigation.

Express was unable to get hold of CNA’s head office for comment regarding the matter before publishing.
