“The purpose of the seminars was to empower small, medium and micro enterprises (SMMEs), co-operatives, crèches, churches, NPOs, as well managers and supervisors in these types of organisations to develop skills to fund their organisations and manage finances and create wealth,” said Mngoma.

During the event, the young people who are jobseekers were given skills on how to position themselves for employment and avoid making mistakes that may compromise them from getting the jobs they desire.

SMMEs were added to a database for more opportunities. They were given a chance to exhibit their products and services to the residents.

As a well-known financial services provider, Old Mutual provided the youth with financial education training which will in future empower young people with all required tools to get out of debt and create their own wealth.

National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) representatives were also present.

Montsho-Mngoma advised young people to consider starting their own businesses.

She said the reason why it is important for people to start their own business is that the Fourth Industrial Revolution is ready to take over.
