Man nabbed for alleged drunk driving

Primrose police apprehended a man on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol.

A 38-year-old man was arrested by the Primrose police on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol last Saturday.

The suspect was stopped by officers who noticed him driving recklessly.

“They stopped the vehicle and immediately noted that the driver smelt of alcohol and allegedly couldn’t stand up straight,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

“He was arrested and taken to a local hospital for blood tests before being taken to the Primrose Police Station.”

The accused was released from the Primrose Police Station after paying bail and warned to appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court.
