Katlehong SAPS Crime Prevention Unit nabs seven suspects

“The Katlehong station commander Brig Sammy Thambo is pleading with the community to report perpetrators of crime to the police,” said Mtwa.

The Katlehong police on June 5 arrested seven suspects for various offences. Suspects were arrested during a stop-and-search operation conducted by the SAPS Crime Prevention Unit, the detectives and Trio Task Team, a unit attached to the SAPS.

Katlehong SAPS corporate communications officer Const Sivenkosi Mtwa said the suspects were arrested for the following crimes:

• Common assault 3

• Assault BGH 1

• Possession of hijacked motor vehicle 1

• Drunk and driving 1

• Possession of unlicensed firearm 1

He added: “They can report anonymously by contacting the numbers: 08000 10111 or 011 617 3600.”

All the suspects are expected to appear in the Palm Ridge Court on June 6.
