Police operations yield results in Katlehong North

Katlehong North SAPS arrested 10 suspects during several weekend operations in their precinct.

Katlehong North police had a busy weekend arresting 10 suspects, in several different operations.

Operations included roadblocks, stop-and-search operations, the raiding of unlicensed taverns and the tracing of wanted suspects.

The suspects, aged between 38 and 43 years old, were arrested for various offences.

Charges included arson, common assault, assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, domestic violence, dealing in drugs, shoplifting and driving under the influence of alcohol.

During the operations police seized several illicit items including alcohol, from illegal taverns, drugs and an undisclosed amount of money believed to be the proceeds of dealing in drugs.

Katlehong North SAPS station commander Col Reginah Rampota congratulated the officers involved following the arrests.

She further encouraged the community to come forward with any information that may lead to more successful arrests.

All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.
