Easter Holidays Football Games held

The first final was between the u-11 teams, with Twala Aces FC locking horns with Katlehong Warriors FC. Twala Aces won the game 3-0.

Katlehong Local Football Association (Kalfa), in partnership with Stupel and Berman Inc Attorneys, hosted the Easter Holiday Football Games for junior teams (u-11, u-13, u-15 and u-17) on April 27 at Botsotso Sports Grounds in Katlehong.

The u-11 and u-13 teams played for silver and gold medals as well as trophies, while the u-15 and u-17 teams played for silver and gold medals, trophies and soccer kits.

In the second finals, where the u-13 teams played, Royals FC defeated Katlehong Rivals by six goals to zero.

Both Twala Aces u-11 and Royals FC u-13 received gold medals and trophies, while second place finishers Katlehong Warriors u-11 and Katlehong Rivals u-13 received silver medals.

The u-15 finals was between Katlehong Rivals and Royals FC. Both team shared the spoils after full time with one goal aside.

Royals FC’s shot stopper was too smart for Katlehong Rivals players, keeping them at bay at all costs. He managed to save three penalties and assisted his team to win the game 4-2 after a penalty shoot-out.

The last match of the day was between the u-17 teams with Triple-S FC and Kasie Express locking horns.

Both teams were cautious in their approach, playing most of their games from the middle of the pitch.

Triple-S broke the deadlock after their striker dribbled past his opponent and fired a shot from long range to beat Kasie Express keeper to help his side take a 1-0 advantage.

The second half belonged to Triple-S FC, as they came back with a different approach to dominate the midfield area. They stretched the Express midfielders then broke through a scattered defence. As a result, two more goals were scored to extend Triple-S FC’s lead to three goals.
