Arts production donates clothes to Tumelo Home

UMehluko Arts Production donated clothes to Tumelo Home for the Mentally Handicapped in Ivory Park Extension Two.

UMehluko Arts Production recently donated clothes to Tumelo Home for the Mentally Handicapped in Ivory Park Extension Two.

During the visit, they performed poetry and dance for the children of the home.

Thabang Maduna, chairperson and director of UMehluko Arts Production, said as it is the beginning of the year, they have decided to go the extra mile and give back to the community.

“We started at our nearby home, Tumelo Home Care Centre for the Disabled,” said Maduna.

“With the help of Ambitious Powerful Woman, an NGO that donates sanitary pads and toiletries to children in schools, we try so hard to make a change.

“Yes, we might have no money or anything fancy, but the little that we have can make a child happy and put a smile on their faces, with the help of our beloved community we asked for clothes they do not wear anymore. The mother of one of our students, Mama Lethabo, donated snacks,” said Maduna.

Managing director of the home Solly Khuthama said they welcome the donation. It means a lot to the children since winter is also approaching.

“The group entertained our children for a day and left us with something to warm up our cold days with. The performances brought smiles to their faces,” said Khuthama.
