Crime prevention operations in and around Ekurhuleni
All the arrested appeared in various courts in the district.
Ekurhuleni district police, in partnership with the EMPD and other law enforcement agencies around Ekurhuleni, engaged in crime prevention operations within their respective policing precincts over the weekend of April 26 to 27.
Police stations involved in the operation were Alberton, Bedfordview, Brackendowns, Eden Park, Elsburg, Germiston, Primrose, Katlehong north and south, Thokoza, Vosloorus and Zonkizizwe, and they managed to arrest a total of 67 suspects during normal operations, including tracing of wanted suspects and stop-and-search operations.

Suspects were arrested for various crimes, among them assault with the intention to cause grievous bodily harm, rape, child abuse, resisting arrest, possession of stolen property, malicious damage to property, house break-in and theft, possession of an unlicensed firearm, dealing in dagga, possession of drugs, shoplifting and driving under the influence.
