EMPD superintendents have completed their first month in their position after being taken through intensive and rigorous training.
This is according to the EMPD spokesperson, Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago, who added that the officers are in a crucial position as this post is at junior management level and gives assistance to precinct commanders in the Operations Division in order to ensure effective management and good service delivery.

“Six of the newly-appointed superintendents conferred with their ranks in February are females,” Kgasago said.
“They all have been taken through intensive and rigorous training to hone their managerial, technical and communication skills in preparation for their new responsibilities.”
All the promoted superintendents will be occupying positions in the Operations Division.
“Eight will be assisting chief superintendents at precincts, one at Land Invasion and the rest are within specialised services which include OR Tambo International, First Responder Unit, Public Order Policing(POPS) and K9 Units.”
