“Police went to the said house, searched it and found dagga stuffed in two-liter bottles of cold drinks. The suspects resisted arrest and assaulted police officers who were officially on duty. After a long battle with the police, the suspects were finally arrested,” said Mvelase.

She said the suspects were detained at Thokoza Police Station and are expected to appear in the Palm Ridge Court soon to face charges of dealing in dagga and interfering with police duties.

Shiburi thanked the community members who assisted with information that led to the arrest of the suspects.

“I would like to appeal with the community to continue working with the police and report criminal activities that the police are not aware of. They must dial 011 906 8600. The caller may remain anonymous if they want to,” said Shiburi.
