Police speak to children about school safety

Galway Primary School hosted an informative school and road safety talk.

With children already stuck into their school curriculums for the year and hard at work, members of the Ekurhuleni West Cluster SAPS Social Crime Prevention Unit kicked-off their back-to-school campaign.

They were accompanied by EMPD members and Pastor Vanessa de Jager from Christ Embassy Germiston.

The officers visited Galway Primary School last Monday to welcome back the learners and discuss a number of issues with them.

Sgt Olga Masethla, the Ekurhuleni West Cluster SAPS social crime prevention coordinator, addressed the learners about bullying and safety in the school.

“We placed an emphasis on bullying and gave the children advice,” she said.

Const Nthabiseng Nxusa, from the EMPD, then spoke to the learners about road safety and school transport.
