EMPD officers swiftly recover stolen vehicle

A vehicle stolen during a business robbery was recovered in Spruitview.

EMPD SWAT members received a call about a Hyundai H100 that was stolen during a business robbery in Isando at about 5.30am on Thursday.

The SWAT members responded swiftly and recovered the stolen vehicle in a shopping centre parking lot in Spruitview.

“Immediately after receiving the call the members followed the GPS coordinates which led them to Spruitview Shopping Centre and they recovered the Hyundai just before 6am,” said Wilfred Kgasago, spokesperson for the EMPD.

“The vehicle was found abandoned with its dashboard badly damaged.”

The recovered vehicle was taken to SAPS Van Ryn Deep pound for safekeeping and further investigation after the formalities on the scene were completed.

In-depth investigations by law enforcement agencies are underway to apprehend the perpetrators of the crime.
