The school achieved a 66.6 per cent pass rate in 2017, and now the school flies at 84.89 per cent pass rate, all thanks to the working strategy and hard work.

Out of 141 learners who sat for exams, 119 passed with 22 failing them.

The school received 71 bachelor pass, 39 diplomas and nine higher certificates.

“Firstly, we were focused on particular subjects such as geography. We brought subject experts from outside, and this helped a great deal. Secondly, we had our own internal programmes such as morning, afternoon and evening classes. Thirdly, parents and the school governing body (SGB) gave us support, especially with extra classes. Lastly, the periodical school camp project was useful,” said Madi.

Madi said the target they set for themselves at the beginning of the year was to reach 90 per cent pass rate.

“But because of challenges in subjects like physical science and business studies they did not attain their target.”

However, the fact that the school attained more than 80 per cent pass rate is reflective of the hard work by teachers, learners and other stakeholders, and that the success is worth celebrating considering the fact that most learners come from disadvantaged communities.
