WARNING: South African Weather Service warns of extreme high temperatures this week

A heatwave has been predicted for Gauteng this week and South African Weather Service is warning residents to be aware as high temperatures are expected.

With temperatures predicted to rise over the next couple of days, here are some safety tips to keep in mind:

  • Always keep hydrated.
  • When doing outdoor activities, try to stay in the shade as much as possible.
  • Limit physical activities, especially in the middle of the day when temperatures are high.
  • Always apply sunscreen.
  • Wear light clothes.
  • Take cool showers, especially during the day.
