Msimanga visits Eden Park as part of DA Listening Tour

Msimanga said as he has been engaging with people, they have raised a lot of issues that affect them.

Democratic Alliance (DA) Gauteng premier candidate Solly Msimanga said he has been conducting his Listening Tours all over the province since September.

Msimanga held a Listening Tour in Eden Park on November 8 where he listened to and engaged with the residents on issues they face on a daily basis.

He was joined by the DA Alberton Constituency Head, Neil Campbell MPL, DA Ekurhuleni regional chairperson Clr Selby Thekiso, DA Ekurhuleni caucus leader Philip de Lange and regional structures.

Msimanga said during his Listening Tour, he has been engaged with different churches, communities, NGOs, rich and poor people, as well as government employees.

“The purpose of my engagement with people in this manner is to find out from them if they are happy with what is happening around them. We also want to participate in and contribute to the upliftment of the community.

“We were well received by the community of Eden Park and in all the other communities where we took this Listening Tour. We also learnt that people are not happy with what is happening in their surroundings and that they want change. We want to ensure people of Gauteng that we will continue to deliver to them,” said Msimanga.

Msimanga said as he has been engaging with people, they have raised a lot of issues that affect them.

“They said they have the following issues: illegal dumping, unemployment, young people need to be provided with business skills, older people talked about health issues (clinics too far and sometimes not functioning and others do not offer good services) and that there is no visible policing in their surroundings and how it leads to crime. The community want these issues to be taken into consideration,” said Msimanga.

In conclusion, Msimanga said in Tswane these issues have been addressed and that they are yielding good results.
