Ekurhuleni Flying Squad members nab two in Katlehong

A hijacked vehicle was recovered in Katlehong by members of the Ekurhuleni Flying Squad.

Acting swiftly to a complaint in Katlehong on Thursday allowed Ekurhuleni Flying Squad members to arrest two.

The members were busy conducting their normal duties when the complaint about a hijacked Isuzu LDV with two occupants inside it came in at about 10am.

“Sgt Willem du Preez and Const Tso Mokobane swiftly responded to the complaint and spotted the vehicle parked in a yard at a house, without a wall or fence, with the two occupants inside it in Mgadi Section, Katlehong,” said Const Ntombikayise Ngcobo, communications officer for the Ekurhuleni Flying Squad.

“They went closer to the vehicle and the driver and passenger jumped out of it.”

The officers confirmed that the vehicle had been hijacked in Orange Farm.

The suspects, aged 29 and 39, respectively, were arrested on a charge of possession of a hijacked motor vehicle.

They will appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court soon.
