AfriSam comes to the rescue of needy children

The company which believes in investing in the future of children through education held a handover ceremony with the community of Villa Liza where 114 school shoes were handed out to school children.

AfriSam donated school shoes to needy children in the Villa Liza community, east of Johannesburg.
The company which believes in investing in the future of children through education held a handover ceremony with the community of Villa Liza where 114 school shoes were handed out to school children.
The children that benefitted were all from the Villa Liza community and identified by the community leaders.

During the ceremony, AfriSam’s Themba Baloyi , said;

‘We are proud to be working for a company that gives back to the community and changes the lives of the children. “The children are the future and they represent innocence. It is great that the company is able to assist in any way to make it easier for them to get to school so they can concentrate on learning,” he said.

A community representative Dumisani Mtshali said; the community is grateful to AfriSam for the shoes as some children did not have them and wore worn out shoes. The community wishes that their relationship with AfriSam gets stronger.”
Villa Liza is a community that is close to AfriSam’s Rooikraal quarry, an open cast mine, East of Johannesburg.
