Katlehong police detectives target criminals in their precinct

Seven suspects arrested in the Katlehong area by detectives from the Katlehong Police Station.

Several detectives from the Katlehong Police Station took to the streets, case documents in hand, in an effort to trace and arrest several suspects on Thursday.

During the operation, a total of seven suspects were nabbed.

The detectives’ investigations focused on theft out of motor vehicle cases reported in Katlehong, and four suspects were arrested for this crime.

Two men, aged 24 and 35 years old respectively, were among the suspects arrested.

The pair were charged with stealing a firearm from a vehicle parked in Ramokonopi West.

“Further investigation is being done in this case as the vehicle that the firearm was allegedly stolen from has still not been claimed by its owner,” said Capt Mega Ndobe, Katlehong corporate communications official.

Other suspects were arrested for intimidation, assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm and driving under the influence of alcohol.

All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court where their cases were postponed for various reason
