Twelve suspects arrested in Katehong

Katlehong police arrest 12 in daily stop-and-search operation.

In an effort to curb crime in the community the Katlehong police’s Crime Prevention Unit hosted another successful stop-and-search operation last Tuesday.

The operation also served as an opportunity for officers to become more visible within the community.

The accused were charged with various offences.

Charges included domestic violence, house break-in and theft, theft of a motor vehicle, possession of counterfeit money, shoplifting, reckless and negligent driving and assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Katlehong SAPS’ acting station commander, Col Christan Gcaza, applauded the officers for their good work and encouraged them to continue in their efforts.

All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court where their cases were postponed for various reasons.
