During further questioning, the suspect told officers a large quantity of dagga was also hidden inside a back room on the premises.

“He claimed the dagga belonged to a man known only by the alias of Maseko and he was simply a runner for Maseko,” de Jager said.

Officers searched the back room, which the accused pointed out to them, and found 2 050 small ziplock plastic packets of dagga, 44 large ziplock plastic packets of dagga, 32.37kg of loose dagga valued at R133 350, two 9mm rounds of ammunition, a large amount of counterfeit money, and cash.

He will appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court soon.
