Investec Bank donates to a daycare centre

Boitumelo Day Care and Pre-School based in Mailula in Vosloorus received a donation from Investec Bank on Friday, August 17.

The Sandton-based company donated educational toys and snacks.

They also donated hats and scarfs to keep children warm during winter.

Founder of the daycare that has more than 30 children Lyttia Hlahane said she was excited about the gifts from Investec Bank.

“These gifts are very important to our children as educational toys. They will help improve the counting ability of the children and restructure their minds while hats and scarfs will keep children warm during winter months,” said Hlahane.

She added: “The first time they were here they promised to come back with more gifts to make us even happier. They asked us to write our wish list which we did. They promised to bring us those gifts, and they have kept their word.”

One of the Investec Bank vehicle finance official Thabo Molefe said the purpose of the donation is to support the community they serve.

“I met Hlahane two years ago she told me that she wants us as the bank to assist her. She told us what she needed and it is for the second time we are here. Last time we gave her mattresses,” said Molefe.

He added that he would like the company to do more for people like Hlahane.

Hlahane also thanked teachers who are helping her to run the creche. They are Albertina Langa, Patricia Mothata, Slindile Khumalo and Nobantu Selane.
