Alleged robbery leaves three wounded and one dead

Vosloorus SAPS are investigating a case which includes murder and three counts of attempted murder that occurred in Vosloorus Extention 28 on August 2.

Communications officer at Vosloorus SAPS Capt Piet Rossouw said Vosloorus’ men in blue were dispatched to the scene of a crime on the day.

“At about 6.30pm two Ethiopians, who own Walala Wasala Tuck Shop, sensed that something wrong was about to happen. They decided to close the shop and while doing that five male suspects of which two of them were armed with firearms appeared. Shots were fired and left the two Ethiopians and a passer-by male civilian wounded,” Rossouw said.

He added that a female civilian who was walking on the street nearby was also shot and certified dead on the scene by paramedics.

The wounded suspects were taken to Thelle Mogoerane Hospital in Vosloorus.

Rossouw said Vosloorus SAPS are investigating the possibility of an attempted business robbery that went wrong thus ended up in murder and attempted murder charges.

Rossouw appeals to the community of Vosloorus to assist with any information to apprehend the perpetrators.
