Katlehong SAPS make seven arrests in weekend operations

The Katlehong police continued their efforts to curb crime in their precinct.

Officers from the Katlehong police’s Crime Prevention Unit conducted several stop-and-search operations last weekend.

The operations were held in different parts of Katlehong between August 3 and 5 and resulted in the arrest of seven suspects.

The accused were arrested for various offences.

Charges included assault of a police officer, child neglect, shoplifting, kidnapping, assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm and driving under the influence of alcohol.

The officers were thanked for their continued efforts and encouraged to continue their hard work by acting station commander Col Nomthandeki Mthembu.

The accused all appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.
