Katlehong SAPS put 10 suspects to book

The Katlehong police arrested 10 suspects for various offences on July 23.

The communications officer at Katlehong Police Station, Const Sivenkosi Mtwa, said suspects were arrested during routine stop-and-search operations conducted by Katlehong Crime Prevention Members.

“Suspects were arrested for the following crimes, among others: nine suspects were arrested for being in possession of drugs such as nyaope and dagga and one suspect was arrested for house break-in and theft,” said Mtwa.

The acting station commander, Col Nomthandeki Mthembu, said she was impressed with the work of the men in blue.

“I am very happy with the way the police work. I would like them to act as quickly as possible when a case is registered and suspects are known to the victims. Police must make the arrest as soon as possible,” said Mthembu.

Mtwa said the arrested suspects are expected to appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court according to their different charges.

The stop-and-search operations continues.
