Construction of Sam Ntuli Mall has started

The commencement of the construction of the long-awaited Sam Ntuli Mall was celebrated at a colourful sod-turning function on June 27.

The function was attended by the Ekurhuleni executive mayor, Mzwandile Masina, the developers, various ward councillors, the local SAPD, and other key role players who helped the mall reach this important milestone.

The Moolman Group, in partnership with Twin City Developments and Vuno Group (co-developers), are proud to bring this convenience to the township of Katlehong with its latest shopping centre development.

Pieter Lombaard, a chief executive officer of Moolman Group, said: “Katlehong will be one of the last townships to receive their own shopping centre. That said, being last is not always a bad thing; the residents of Katlehong can expect the latest stores, state-of-the-art building finishes and cutting-edge technology.”

Sam Ntuli Mall is located at Kumalo and Masakhane streets in Katlehong

The catchment area is home to approximately 450 000 residents all staying within a 5km radius of the new Sam Ntuli Mall. Featuring 26 382 square metres of retail potential, the people of Katlehong will soon be enjoying the best that retail has to offer.

Anchored by Shoprite, Pick n Pay, Clicks, Meat World and Cashbuild, the new centre will provide local residents with a large selection of quality stores in various retail categories.

This includes banking convenience with Absa, Nedbank, FNB, Standard Bank, Capitec Bank and African Bank as tenants.

National fashion retailers joining the tenant mix include Truworths, Exact, Markhams, Totalsports, Legit, Beaver Canoe, Power Clothing, Studio 88, John Craig, Mr Price, Ackermans and Pep. Shoppers can also look forward to a satisfying mix of food outlets and restaurants, such as KFC, Steers, Debonairs, Roman’s Pizza and Hungry Lion.

Approximately 450 jobs will be created during the construction phase of the project. This translates to roughly 350 permanent jobs, and 150 temporary jobs following the completion of the centre.

The opening of the mall is scheduled to take place in October 2019.
