Katlehong SAPS made 11 successful arrests

Katlehong SAPS arrested 11 suspects on May 15 for various offences.

Suspects were arrested during routine stop and searches conducted by the Katlehong Crime Prevention Unit, as well as detectives.

Katlehong SAPS communications officer Capt Mega Ndobe said the detectives were tracing suspects according to their dockets in hand.

“The search for the suspects resulted in two suspects, a 24-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man, arrested for assault with the intention to inflict bodily harm. It is alleged the court had given them bail and another court date. They failed to appear in court on the second date and a warrant of arrest was issued,” said Ndobe.

He said the other suspects were arrested for the following crimes: domestic violence, assault common and for being in possession of dagga.

Katlehong acting station commander Col Nomthandeki Mthembu was impressed with the arrest saying the police must take immediate action when the case is registered and the suspect is known to the victim.

“You must affect the arrest as soon as possible,” said Mthembu.
