The suspects were arrested during an operation conducted by the police and Crime Prevention Unit members, as well as the detectives.
The communications officer at the Katlehong SAPS, Capt Mega Ndobe, said the suspects were arrested as detectives were tracing suspects according to their dockets.
“Among the suspects arrested, one was arrested for rape, three for common assault, one for driving under the influence of alcohol and reckless and negligent driving,” said Ndobe.
He said 10 more suspects were arrested for assault with the intent to cause bodily harm while nine suspects were arrested for being found in possession of dagga.
He added that all suspects arrested are between the age of 21 and 44 and are expected to appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court soon according to their charges.
