Matric top achievers to reap what they’ve sown

Ekurhuleni executive mayor Clr Mzwandile Masina will on January 24 award bursaries to Ekurhuleni’s matric top achievers at the annual Academic Excellence Awards ceremony at Emperors Palace in Kempton Park.

Themed ‘Building Bridges, Breaking Barriers’, the awards will see top achievers reap the rewards of the dedication and hard work they’ve put in towards achieving academic excellence.

Congratulatory tokens in the form of bursaries, laptops, certificates and trophies will be awarded to the Best Performing Matric Learners; Best Performing Schools (including priority schools); Most Improved Schools as well as the Best Performing Learners in subject areas.

The mayor will also congratulate graduates who have obtained their tertiary qualifications through the aid of the City of Ekurhuleni’s bursary scheme.

Exhibition stalls showcasing student support services as well as the Home Affairs smart card ID desk services will be available to ensure the city’s gems are fully equipped for their academic journey.
