Take your dog for a dip at local SPCA

From Saturday, October 28, the Boksburg SPCA will have facilities available for the dipping of dogs.

This will be done free of charge, however, a donation to the society for this kind gesture will be much appreciated, reports the Boksburg Advertiser.

Biliary (tick bite fever) is deadly. It is an illness of the liver affecting horses, dogs and cats.

This is the most common infectious disease of dogs in southern Africa.

Biliary is caused by a tiny parasite which is introduced into the body by a tick bite. This parasite then enters and destroys red blood cells.

Dog owners are advised to bring along their own towels. Dogs should be on leads and under control.

The SPCA is open Saturdays from 8.30am to 11.30am and Mondays to Fridays from 8.30am to 3pm, so take your dog for a dip!
